About the Role:

Link3 Recruitment is looking for an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to lead our nursery team in Coventry. This role is ideal for a driven individual who values excellence in early childhood education, team leadership, and operational management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop nursery staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management, to maintain a positive and productive work culture.
  • Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring child safety, staff compliance with safeguarding procedures, and regular training to stay updated with legislation.
  • Oversee budget planning, monitor financial performance, and work with the Director on profitability strategies and cost management.
  • Ensure a high-quality curriculum aligned with the EYFS framework; conduct mock Ofsted inspections to ensure preparedness.
  • Manage daily operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, safety protocols, and strategies to increase occupancy through marketing and outreach.
  • Support professional growth through training sessions, effective task delegation, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Develop coverage plans for staff absences to ensure smooth operations, including working in the room if needed.
  • Handle nursery administration, maintain accurate records, manage cleanliness standards, and submit headcount and funding proposals to the local council.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, guardians, and external agencies, maintaining regular communication and support.
  • Promote a nurturing, fun atmosphere by organizing engaging activities and events that align with the EYFS framework.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Nursery Manager or similar role in early childhood education, with a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements.
  • Relevant childcare qualification (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Childcare or equivalent). A management qualification or degree in Early Years Education is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, child protection policies, and designated safeguarding lead experience.
  • Ability to manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and understand cost-saving strategies.
  • Strong team leadership, delegation, and performance management skills to inspire and support a cohesive staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing daily operations, record-keeping, and multitasking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and community stakeholders.
  • Passion for delivering high standards in education, safety, and overall nursery operations.
