Job Description:My client, a well-established accountancy firm based in Coventry, is seeking a meticulous and efficient Payroll Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for multiple clients, including weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls.
  • Process new starters, leavers, and employee changes, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations such as PAYE, National Insurance, and pensions.
  • Prepare and submit RTI (Real-Time Information) submissions to HMRC.
  • Administer auto-enrolment pension schemes and liaise with providers.
  • Handle payroll queries from clients and employees efficiently and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of payroll data.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and ensure all payments are correct and on time.
  • Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and inform clients accordingly.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in payroll administration, ideally within an accountancy or bureau environment.
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and procedures.
  • Experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with high levels of accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive client relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A professional and proactive approach to problem-solving.
