Freelance Design Manager 

12 months 

up to £450 a day PAYE umbrella 

Skilled Careers are currently recruiting for a Tier 1 contractor for a education project and looking for a skilled and experienced Freelance Design Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design, project management, and communication, able to balance creativity with timely execution.

Responsibilities:

• Lead design projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality and alignment with client goals.
• Manage a team of designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and timelines.
• Ensure all designs are delivered on time, within scope, and meet high standards of quality.
• Review and approve design work, ensuring consistency across all materials.
• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, managing expectations and providing regular updates.
• Handle multiple design projects simultaneously, managing priorities and resources efficiently.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Design Manager or in a similar role.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.).
• Solid understanding of design principles, branding, and UX/UI.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

• Experience working in both digital and print design.
• Knowledge of design trends and industry best practices.
