Responsibilities:
'Hands-on' working cell leader role - able to programme; set; operate and troubleshoot each
process within the cell.
Production of parts within the cell - target of 80% of time producing parts.
Prioritise and manage the order in which works orders are completed within the Cell, ensuring
that Works Order due dates are achieved; production capacity is maximised, and Cell downtime
is minimised.
Lead daily 'start of shift' and 'end of shift' production plan and KPI meetings with all Cell team
members (and support staff as required) monitor and manage Cell performance, and to identify
and agree daily priorities with members of other Departments and work collectively to ship
products to our customers by the required ship date.
Promote and embed good standards of housekeeping; cleanliness and 6S across the cell to
maintain a safe; clean and organised working environment always.
Promote a team working environment across the Cell, and encourage and support continuous
improvement activities to achieve identified improvements.
Identify and resolve quality issues using daily scrap walks and root cause analysis in order to
reduce scrap, non-conformance and rework.
Work closely with Production Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure optimal running of
manufacturing processes and equipment.
Recruitment and training of team members, ensuring that team members are trained to a
defined standard and are competent to perform their duties at both quality and output
standards as identified by the skills matrix for each operator. Manage holidays; time keeping;
grievances and discipline across the team (with support from HR) to ensure that manpower is
always in place to deliver the production plan.
Ensure that daily shopfloor work booking, and route card disciplines are instilled into the team's
daily activities.
