Our client is a leading food business who supply to a variety of the major retailers. As they continue to expand and grow their presence in the marketplace they are now seeking a driven and ambitious Product Development Technologist to join their business.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Craft and refine new recipes in the development kitchen, aligning with customer submissions, blue-sky innovations, and project briefs.
* Ensure new products are operationally robust, meeting target costs, waste levels, and factory performance standards.
* Support factory trials by capturing data, recording process settings, and creating actionable recommendations for improvement.
* Complete all required NPD paperwork, including cost cards, BOMs, and trial forms, ensuring accurate records for seamless product launches.
* Work with teams across Packaging, Operations, Technical, Purchasing, Planning, and Engineering to provide clear development updates and ensure project alignment.
* Organise samples for nutritional, micro, and organoleptic testing, creating QAS documents to meet expected standards and timelines.
* Track and report trial and ingredient costs, collaborating with the NPD Project Manager and Finance team to stay within budget.
* Drive the Operation Plan priority projects, ensuring timely and impactful delivery of NPD initiatives.
* Develop products safely and responsibly, adhering to company policies and exceeding customer expectations.
* Identify opportunities to optimise development activities, making the process as efficient and impactful as possible.
About you:
* Proven track record in a similar role in food manufacturing
* Strong IT skills
