We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the mechanical works on a major commercial refurbishment/refit project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the mechanical installation and maintenance activities, ensuring the work is completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation, repairs, and upgrades in alignment with the project specifications and schedule.
- Lead and manage a team of mechanical technicians and subcontractors, ensuring proper allocation of resources.
- Ensure all mechanical systems are compliant with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Review and interpret technical drawings and plans to guide the installation of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and resolving any issues or delays.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is being carried out to the highest standard and in line with project timelines.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and problem-solving.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and progress updates.
- Promote a culture of safety on-site and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- CSCS card
- SSSTS / SMSTS
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor in large-scale commercial projects, particularly in refurbishments/refits.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential issues early.
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field (e.g., HNC, HND, or equivalent).
- Previous experience managing subcontractors and coordinating between different trades is highly desirable.
