Our client in Coventry is recruiting for a Production Supervisor within their manufacturing facility. The role will involve supervising and managing a team whilst providing guidance, support and enhancing performance. This role could provide progression opportunities for the right individual.

Job Description:

  • Developing and implementing efficient processes to streamline operations and enhance overall productivity
  • Monitor and optimise production to minimise downtime and reduce costs
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions and audits to mitigate risks and maintain a secure working environment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure an adequate and well-maintained machine.
  • Manage inventory levels of supplies to minimise disruptions in operations.
  • Implement performance metrics and KPIs to assess the efficiency of employees.
  • Analyse data and generate reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Facilitate effective communication between shop floor team and other relevant departments, such as warehousing, production, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address and resolve any issues impacting for production.
  • Start the day with a brief team meeting to discuss the day's priorities, goals, and any important updates.
  • Address any immediate concerns or issues raised by team members.
  • With the support of the HR department, deal with any HR-related matters, such as performance and conduct reviews.
  • Collaborate with the operations manager on recruitment, on boarding, and workforce planning as needed.
  • Conducting 1:1 meetings

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve production targets
  • Experience in implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Strong ability to work towards and meet key production targets under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in monitoring KPIs and ensuring team alignment with business objectives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of workplace safety regulations.
  • Experience managing resources such as raw materials, tools, and equipment efficiently

Desirable Qualifications / Experience:

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to monitor production performance
