Are you a seasoned Senior Project Manager with a passion for delivering turn-key projects in the Quarry and Mining sector? Do you have the expertise to lead complex projects and the ambition to progress to a director-level role? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Company : Our Client are a leading contractor specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of site machinery for the Quarry and Mining sector. Their turn-key projects, valued up to 20m, encompass full site installations, including machinery, site vehicles, and staffing to run the plant. With a strong reputation and over 50 years of industry experience, they pride themselves on delivering high-quality, comprehensive solutions to their clients.

Role Overview: As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal client-facing role, overseeing the successful delivery of multiple turn-key projects. You will be based 50% in the Coventry office and 50% on-site, initially managing two ongoing projects with the scope to handle up to five by the end of the year. This role offers a direct career path to a director position, ideal for an individual with leadership qualities and a strategic mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of turn-key projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior project managers, promoting a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and risk management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards across all projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including design, manufacturing, and installation, to streamline project execution.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and reporting, providing regular updates to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing turn-key projects, preferably in the Quarry and Mining sector.
  • Strong mechanical engineering background with knowledge of civil engineering principles.
  • Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to develop and support junior project managers.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel and split time between office and site locations as required.
