Macildowie Recruitment & Retention - Supply Chain & ProcurementSenior Buyer - Up to £50,000 Per Annum - CoventryMonday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:45pm - PermanentMacildowie Supply Chain & Procurement is delighted to have partnered with a reputable and well-established manufacturing brand in Coventry to recruit a Senior Buyer.The key objective is to build and maintain new and existing supplier relationships, sourcing raw materials across the UK, whilst providing stakeholders with supplier performance reports.Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional strategies for direct commodities, understand key cost drivers, market trends and economics influence.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and long term source of supply.
- Evaluate and select new suppliers to get the best match for the business need.
- Benchmark, monitor and audit suppliers on price, quality, delivery and capability criteria.
- Source raw materials and services to either replace or as a benchmarking tool to seek out cost saving opportunities.
- Engage, manage and influence senior stakeholders to ensure buy-in, utilising strong market knowledge.
- Monitor supplier risk and performance through reporting tools and business feedback.
- Negotiate and agree Framework Agreements; Rebate Agreements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with Key Suppliers and valuate existing contracts to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Manage Tender and RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes including creating necessary supporting documentation.
The Candidate
- Previous experience working as a Senior Buyer, Senior Procurement Led, Buyer or equivalent.
- CIPS qualified or working towards.
- Able to travel to Coventry.
- Proficient user of Excel.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to negotiation with suppliers.
- Manufacturing procurement background - Desirable
