Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category Manager/Senior Buyer to manage a key product category and drive success across their business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the category management process from cradle to grave, including product selection, sourcing, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop and implement category strategies to maximise profitability, sales, and inventory turnover.
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate terms to ensure the best product offerings at competitive prices.
  • Work closely with the marketing, merchandising, and e-commerce teams to optimise product assortments across both online and in-store platforms.
  • Analyse market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to continuously refine product ranges and drive growth.
  • Forecast demand and manage inventory to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Track product performance, making data-driven decisions to refine and improve the range.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Significant experience in buying/category management within the hard goods retail sector.
  • Proven ability to manage a range from cradle to grave, overseeing the entire product lifecycle.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a track record of driving category growth and profitability.
  • Expertise in supplier negotiations and relationship management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid experience in both online and in-store retail operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
