Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Main Contractor Mission Critical
Based in Coventry
Permanent: £40,000 + Package
We are currently searching for a Quantity Surveyor who would be interested in exploring a new role in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) for a main contractor who works in the mission-critical sector (data centres/pharmaceutical/semi-conductor). Along with delivering schemes as main contractor they produce elements for the build in their prefabrication facility in Coventry and ship them to their projects throughout the UK and Europe.
As a Quantity Surveyor in the pre-fabrication facility, you would be part of the office team supporting their operations, liaising with the onsite teams.
- Cost Estimation: Preparing detailed cost estimates for prefabricated components, ensuring budget alignment.
- Cost Control: Monitoring and managing costs throughout the production process to avoid overruns
- Procurement: Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers for materials used in the prefabrication process.
- Valuations: Assessing the value of work completed at different stages, ensuring proper payment to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Contract Management: Overseeing contracts related to the supply and delivery of prefabricated units, ensuring compliance with terms.
- Risk Management: Identifying and managing risks associated with prefabrication, such as delays or material shortages.
- Collaboration: Working closely with the design, production, and project management teams to align financial goals with technical requirements.
Experience required:
- 3+ years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in any sector
- Previous experience working in the MMC sector would be beneficial but not essential
- Degree qualifies in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or similar
