Join a forward-thinking affordable/social housing organisation that is transitioning to self-delivery of their housing stock. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in this journey, overseeing the commercial aspects of house building projects in the region. This position offers a fantastic team culture and reports to a well-respected Commercial Director.
Day-to-day of the role:- Take ownership of two regional sites with over 400 homes combined, managing from superstructure upwards.
- Handle all commercial aspects including tendering, procurement, site meetings, etc.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to align project objectives and ensure smooth operations.
- Work closely with the construction and project management teams to forecast costs and manage budgets effectively.
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within house building.
- Competence in working remotely and independently.
- Strong background in commercial management; this role would be ideal for someone who previous worked as a Commercial Manager and is now a Freelance Quantity Surveyor.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail.
- Hybrid working model – flexibility to work 3 days per week from home.
