RM Recruit is excited to partner with a Coventry-based organisation seeking a full-time, permanent Finance Assistant. This 37-hour per week role will be initially based onsite for training, transitioning to a hybrid arrangement with two days remote and three days in the office once settled.

You will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the successful running of the finance function.

  • Process and reconcile invoices, payments, and expense claims
  • Preparation of invoice requests
  • Posting of journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Assist in maintaining the accounts payable and receivable ledgers
  • Support month-end and year-end financial processes, including reconciliations
  • Monitor and manage aged debtors and credit control
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and support cash flow management
  • Assist with VAT returns and other tax-related filings
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in a finance role (finance assistant, accounts payable/receivable, bookkeeping)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Part-qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) or working towards a relevant qualification (desirable)
