Hays Education are pleased to be working with an inclusive and welcoming primary school located in the heart of Coventry. This well-respected school is looking for a dedicated Year 6 teacher to join their team on a 0.7 FTE basis for a long-term maternity cover starting after the February half-term. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work in a nurturing environment that is committed to helping children reach their full academic potential.
Your new role
- Creating and delivering engaging lessons that meet Year 6 curriculum standards.
- Regularly assessing student work and providing thoughtful feedback to support their academic progress.
- Maintaining a positive and productive classroom atmosphere through effective behaviour management techniques.
- Preparing students for their SATs and aiding their transition to secondary school.
- Collaborating with colleagues and maintaining clear communication with parents and guardians about student progress.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- In-depth knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Strong communication
- Enthusiasm, and adaptability
