Higher-Level Teaching Assistant | Coventry, CV6 | Full Time | £100-£125 | ASAP Start

Long Term Futures is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant or qualified HLTA to join a committed school in the Coventry area. This role is ideal for individuals with a solid background in SEN support, as you will work closely with SEN pupils to ensure their needs are met and they remain engaged in their learning. As a HLTA, your responsibilities will include supporting teachers by leading learning activities under their direction, monitoring pupil progress, and assisting in the planning and delivery of lessons. Additionally, you will be responsible for covering classes during PPA time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and group support for SEN pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
  • Encourage engagement and interaction for children with SEN, ensuring their inclusion in classroom activities.
  • Assist with literacy, numeracy, and other learning tasks to support pupils' progress.
  • Support class teachers in lesson delivery and take responsibility for leading class sessions during PPA time.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities for small groups and whole classes, tailored to their specific needs.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least one year of experience in a Primary school
  • HLTA qualification (preferred but not essential, those with Level 3 STL qualifications and substantive experience are encouraged to apply)
  • A strong understanding of working with SEN pupils
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
