Learning Support Assistant | Coventry CV4 | 95 - 105 | Long Term to Permanent | Immediate Start

We are looking for a committed and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to work with students facing complex challenges and learning difficulties, including Autism, physical disabilities, and multiple learning needs. This role plays a vital part in creating an inclusive environment where students can excel both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised support to promote students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist with daily activities, ensuring a safe and supportive atmosphere for all learners.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Manage challenging behaviours effectively using positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Foster student independence and self-advocacy through skill-development activities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs, ideally within an educational setting.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for supporting young people and a dedication to their growth and development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, colleagues, and families effectively.
  • A proactive attitude to problem-solving and adapting to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training is highly advantageous.

To Be Eligible for This Role You Must:

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS certificate (child and adult barred list) registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Provide two references covering the last two years.
