In this Lead Worker opportunity in Coventry, you will join a charity who's purpose is to help 16-25 year olds gain independence and follow a positive pathway out of homelessness.

Key responsibilities

In this Lead Worker job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure a non-judgemental approach to promote healthy boundaries and build long-term last rapport with service users
  • Assisting with finances / budgeting / cooking skills / laundry / applying for jobs / getting back into education
  • Along with independent living skills you will help individuals with bidding for housing and setting up benefits
  • Support and Encourage young people to develop positive relationships with family and other support networks
  • Identify and take up settled accommodation - still provide on-going support to them
  • Helping them overcome barriers they may face externally - mental health / domestic violence / substance misuse / learning disabilities - encouraging them to engage with external agencies to seek help
  • Keeping track of payments for Housing / service charge / rent etc
Skills & experience
  • Proven track record of working In an Lead Worker / Floating Support role within supported housing before - up to date knowledge of housing legislation Is required
  • Willing to travel across the Coventry area - care driver Is not essential but highly desired
  • DBS on the update service - needs to be an enhanced child and adult cleared
  • Flexible to work 5 days over 7 shift work
  • NVQ in Social studies, Youth Work or Health and Social care highly desired
