Your new companyCoventry City Council are urgently looking to recruit a highly passionate and experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Exploitation Team.

Your new roleThe Horizon Team works with young people who are considered at risk of Child Exploitation, this includes Criminal Exploitation and those at risk of Sexual Exploitation. The Horizon Team pride themselves on Multi-Agency work and offer a number of evidence-based interventions to support children at risk of exploitation. Caseloads are low within the team to enable intensive interventions to be provided. You will be delivering on-the-ground social care to support families across Coventry to devise and implement care plans to ensure children can live at home safely, and support where they can't.You will work closely with professionals from a range of agencies, including health, education and social care, police and youth offending services, in order to improve life experiences for children.As a Senior Social Worker in the Horizon Team, support within the Child In Need or Child Protection frameworks. Practitioners in the team have access to high support case supervision, including group supervision, to ensure you will be fully supported in working with this cohort of children and young people. This role will pay up to £33.30 per hour depending on experience and a 3-month rolling contract. JD available upon request. Driving required.

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful, you will need to

  • Have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/B.Sc. in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW)
  • Social Work England registration
  • 3 years post-qualifying experience.
  • Previous experience working within Social Work adults services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
