We are delighted to be partnering exclusively with The ExtraCare Charitable Trust to recruit a Power Platform Developer into the Digital Transformation team. The role is paying £45,000, plus benefits, inclusive of hybrid working.

The ExtraCare Charitable Trust is a registered charity established in 1988, based in Coventry. They employ 1250 staff, with a turnover of over £60m plus over £70m of property sales, offering 4199 homes for older people.

Their vision is 'Better Lives for Older People' and their mission is to 'Create sustainable communities that provide homes older people want, lifestyles they can enjoy and care if it is needed.'

  • Develop new villages.
  • Operate villages and schemes.
  • Support their villages, schemes and their 'extra-care' model through fundraising, advocacy & research.

Power Platform Developer:

To develop new solutions, maintain and incrementally develop existing solutions on the Microsoft Power, Dynamics and 365 platforms as part of the digitalisation of ExtraCare's business functions.

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand and develop business objectives, requirements and user stories.
  • Design, develop, and customise Power Apps, Power Automate (formerly Flow), Power BI and / or other Low Code solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Maintain and govern platform environments and solutions including development, test, and production (and promotion between them).
  • Utilise APIs and create custom connectors for APIs to integrate with non-Microsoft software products.
  • Design, develop and maintain custom reports and dashboards using report-building tools and technologies including Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Report Builder and Power BI.
  • Configure and maintain a Sales process within Dynamics.
  • Define test scenarios and carry out testing alongside the Business Analyst, Product Owner and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Product Owners to troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, understand data requirements and translate them into efficient SQL solutions.
  • Document SQL code, processes and solutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Power Platform Developer:

  • It is essential you have previous knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Power Platform.
  • A good understanding of data description languages and formats such as XML, JSON.
  • An ability to evidence knowledge of an agile framework, such as Scrum or AgilePM.
  • Experience of developing, testing, maintaining and supporting Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and Low Code solutions.
  • Strong experience with SQL and relational database systems, including complex query resolution.
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate certification, or willingness to undertake training.
  • Strong experience in report building tools (e.g., SQL, Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI etc.)
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with remote teams.
  • Comfortable working in a small team, and an organisation early in its digital development.
  • Designing, building, testing and implanting APIs to exchange data and messages between systems is desirable.
  • Experience of solution testing and organising user acceptance testing would be advantageous.
  • Database Administration of SQL*Server Net MVC, Microsoft C#, jQuery and JavaScript, PWA Web, UWP (C#) is desirable.
  • Ability to understand and promote the Charity's values.

Power Platform Developer:

  • £45,000 per annum
  • 37.5 hours per week.
  • 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays.
