Are you a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) with a passion for supporting students, especially those with special educational needs (SEN)? About the Role:

We are currently looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 2, working at a Year 1 level, in a mainstream school in Coventry, from September 2024.

The child is non-verbal, has global developmental delay, and exhibits behavioural issues. This is a part-time role, requiring availability for 3-4 days per week. The position will continue until the child secures a place at a Special School. You will be expected to work full days, with exact days to be decided.

As a TA, you will provide invaluable support to this student, including:

  • Assisting with classroom activities and adapting them to the child’s needs.
  • Providing one-on-one support to ensure the child’s academic and social development.
  • Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to the child's unique needs.
  • Promoting an inclusive learning environment and supporting positive behaviour management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant certificate.
  • Previous experience working in a classroom setting.
  • Understanding of and experience working with students with SEN.
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and support teachers as needed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
