We are seeking a professional and experienced material specialist/procurement manager to join the management team of a growing precision manufacturer based in Coventry.
The role of material specialist/procurement manager is critical to the ongoing success of the business plans for growth over the next 36 months.
The role of material specialist/procurement manager involves the researching, sourcing, testing, and analyzing of materials and products to determine their suitability for design and production.
This role is exciting and variable and will involve liaising daily with multiple departments and external suppliers to ensure standards are met and problems are solved on a timely basis.
Responsibilities of a materials specialist/procurement manager
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure standards are met against product
- Complete inspection and quality analysis reporting
- Liaise with external suppliers to gather intelligence on new products and ranges
- Liaise with external suppliers to procure goods within company budgets
- Work closely with the inspection and quality managers to maintain and improve products and standards
- Investigate issues and act accordingly
- Problem solve and overcome issues arising from production
- Support and implement new systems and processes
- Complete timely reporting KPI’s and system documentation
