About the Role

Join our Measurement Technology team within the Powertrain Fac

ilities Department, supporting cutting-edge emissions testing for engines and vehicles. You will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and fault diagnosis of high-tech emissions measurement equipment, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our test facilities.

This role involves working across Portable Emissions Measurement Systems (PEMS), Chassis Dyno test cells, Engine Testing facilities, and more, ensuring compliance with international laboratory standards.

 

Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Technician:

  • Routine maintenance & servicing of emissions measurement equipment.
  • Diagnose & rectify faults across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards (Risk Assessments, COSHH, etc.).
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, test operators, and external partners.
  • Calibrate and validate measurement tools to maintain facility standards.
  • Interpret and prepare electrical, mechanical, and flow diagrams.

Skills & Experience of Maintenance Technician Required

  • Apprenticeship/NVQ3 or 4+ years relevant technical experience.
  • Strong fault-finding & problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanical & Electrical maintenance expertise.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office & technical documentation.

 

Desirable Experience (Bonus Skills)

  • Calibration & repair of emissions measurement equipment.
  • Familiarity with Horiba/AVL systems (MEXA, i60, Particle Counters, etc.).
  • Understanding of gas distribution & liquid nitrogen systems.
  • Experience with data acquisition & analysis tools (Concerto, Tableau).
