Electrical Engineer

Working Hours: Mon- Fri - Start Time 7am (40 hrs per week)

Pay Rate:17.31 - 21.67 per hour

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team!

Key Responsibilites

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals to determine the layout and design of electrical systems.
  • Perform regular inspections and testing of electrical systems to detect and resolve potential issues before they become emergencies.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement effective, timely solutions.
  • Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other tradespeople to ensure projects are completed efficiently and successfully.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each task.
  • Guide and provide mentorship to apprentices and less experienced electricians.
  • Stay informed about advancements in electrical technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Communicate clearly with clients to understand their needs, provide solutions, and address any concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or technical school is preferred.
  • Valid electrician license or certification is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the electrical trade, ideally in residential, commercial, industrial, or rail sector environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical principles, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Skilled in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces, heights, and outdoor environments.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Familiarity with 17th / 18th Edition IEE Regulations and other relevant Electrical Engineering qualifications.

Location:

  • The role primarily covers the South Wales region. Travel from your home address will be prioritized for efficiency. However, there may be occasional requirements for additional travel, especially in emergencies, to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
