Compliance Officer

Job Location: Cradley Heath (with flexible working options available)

Salary: Competitive, based on market rate and experience

Our client, a dynamic and growing full-service law firm with a £10m turnover, is looking for a dedicated and proactive Compliance Officer. The successful candidate will manage the full spectrum of the firm’s compliance activities, working directly with the Chief Executive, who serves as the COLP (Compliance Officer for Legal Practice), MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer), and COFA (Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration).

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative environment. Prior experience in legal compliance is beneficial, but our client will offer a competitive salary based on your experience and market value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory frameworks, including SRA, AML, GDPR, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Support the Chief Executive in their roles as COLP, MLRO, and COFA, including assisting with reports.
  • Monitor and assess internal systems for compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement internal policies for managing risk and compliance.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Stay up-to-date with changes in regulatory frameworks and ensure firm policies reflect these updates.
  • Liaise with external bodies (SRA, HMRC, etc.) on compliance matters.
  • Manage risk registers and ensure best practices are followed within the firm.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in legal compliance or a related role is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (SRA, AML, GDPR).
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in close collaboration with senior management.
