We are seeking a dedicated Chef to join our culinary team, working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef. This role is integral to enhancing the dining experience for our customers through creative menu design, kitchen organisation, and supplier sourcing. The position requires flexibility, as it includes working during peak periods and holidays on a rota basis from Wednesday to Monday.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of the culinary function.
  • Participate in menu planning and bring creativity to our offerings.
  • Maintain HACCP and hygiene standards.
  • Manage stock ordering, rotation, and stocktakes.
  • Source suppliers and high-quality ingredients.
  • Uphold health & safety regulations.
  • Guarantee customer satisfaction and quality assurance.
  • Respond proactively to customer feedback.
  • Engage in continuous personal development through in-house and external training.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and food safety legislation.
  • Contribute to team meetings and follow management instructions.
  • Plan and prepare with a forward-thinking approach.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • NVQ+ in catering and food safety.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a busy culinary environment.
  • A track record of operating in a kitchen with a 5* Hygiene Rating.
  • Understanding of current market trends and the ability to adapt them into culinary operations.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A creative vision with attention to detail and consistency.
  • A positive attitude towards change and the ability to make decisions.
  • High standards in kitchen and personal hygiene.
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
  • Professionalism and strong team player qualities.
  • Customer-focused mindset.
  • A full clean driver’s licence is advantageous.
