Warehouse Manager

My client is a leading supplier throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking a Warehouse Manager to join their team based in Moira.

This is a Full-Time, permanent position.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 40hours (8.30am-5pm, start time negotiable)

With a salary of £35,000 to £40,000 per annum.

Job Role:

You will be responsible for leading and optimising the warehouse operations, ensuring efficient stock control, order fulfilment, and logistical efficiency. This role is critical in maintaining smooth warehouse processes, ensuring compliance, and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in warehouse management, logistics, or stock control within food manufacturing, FMCG, or distribution.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and supply chain management.
  • Experience in managing warehouse teams, implementing KPIs, and driving efficiency.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations (BRC, HACCP) and health & safety compliance.
  • Ability to use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software for inventory tracking.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Qualifications in Warehousing, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Health & Safety certification (NEBOSH, IOSH).

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all warehouse activities, ensuring smooth receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
  • Manage stock control processes, ensuring inventory accuracy and minimising waste.
  • Optimise warehouse layout and storage solutions for efficient picking and packing.
  • Ensure proper handling of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods in line with food safety regulations.
  • Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) for real-time inventory tracking.
  • Monitor and improve order fulfilment rates, reducing delays and improving efficiency.
  • Experience of working with an ERP system to manage stock.
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, food safety standards (BRC, HACCP), and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and staff training to promote a safe working environment.
  • Maintain cleaning and hygiene standards in line with food manufacturing regulations.
  • Work closely with the technical team to ensure proper storage and handling of food products.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the warehouse team, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development of warehouse staff.
  • Implement KPIs and performance monitoring to drive efficiency and accountability.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Work closely with the Transport team to ensure efficient dispatch and delivery of goods.
  • Liaise with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and transport companies to manage inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Monitor and improve loading and unloading procedures, minimising downtime and maximising efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, transporters, and other stakeholders.
