The Company youll work for:

Our client is an established and successful company based in Cramlington. They are currently looking for a Management Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. If you are interested and meet the person specification of the job role, please apply below.

The job youll do:

  • Manage the preparation of monthly management accounts, short-term forecasts and budgets in line with group reporting formats and deadlines.
  • Regularly review and periodically update standard product costs.
  • Responsible for setting standard costs of new products.
  • Obtain, interpret and analyse data and take a proactive role in assisting the senior management team to understand financial information.
  • Analyse and understand key trends for orders, sales, profit and cash, highlighting key issues and variances from budget and/or forecast for the senior management team.
  • Prepare bridges/analysis highlighting key movements between actual and budget/forecast.
  • Manage project data within the business system to ensure data integrity is maintained and financial results are prepared in line with statutory and group accounting policies.
  • Full responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Responsibility for year-end processes ensuring stock counts are carried out appropriately and inventory is valued appropriately on the balance sheet.
  • Submit and have responsibility for other monthly reporting requirements including monthly VAT submissions.
  • Prepare financial analysis and commentary for inclusion in the monthly management report, including collation and review of other report sections.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors and to provide disclosure packs and tax analysis.
  • Undertake ad hoc project work, review of slow moving stocks, general cost analysis to help drive continuous financial improvement, financial modelling scenarios.

About you:

  • Must have access to full UK drivers licence, as you will be required to travel between sites.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and practical experience of standard costing is preferred.
  • Strong analytical approach with a strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and articulate trends or issues.
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounts/finance IT systems, database management and a proficient user of office IT systems including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
