We are looking for a Facilities Electrician to join our client in Cramlington to undertake planned, preventive and reactive maintenance activities on equipment, tools and facilities across the whole site.

The Job you’ll do

  • Responsible for ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times.
  • Completion of effective planned preventive maintenance of equipment with an emphasis on breakdown prevention through the continual development of PPM procedures.
  • Maintenance of Manufacturing facilities (including PAT Testing, Testing and Maintenance of Emergency Lighting Systems, Fire Alarm Testing, CCTV Systems, Network Cabling and Small Fixed Wiring Installation Projects and Repairs).
  • Installation and/or modification of manufacturing equipment as required.
  • Root cause analysis of breakdowns and implementation of effective reoccurrence prevention plans using tools such as Major Breakdown Reports.
  • Work as part of a manufacturing and facilities maintenance team and demonstrate good communication skills in interfacing with other departments, suppliers, contractors and manufacturers as required.
  • Operating access platforms including scissor lifts and cherry pickers.
  • Assisting with the training and mentoring of apprentices.

About You

  • To apply, we are looking for someone who has an electrical background, has experience within a high volume-manufacturing environment with a good working knowledge of PLCs.
  • 17th or 18th Edition preferred but not essential.
  • Experience of both 3-phase and single-phase low voltage electrical distribution systems, installations & machines is also essential.
  • If you have good organisational skills, are self-motivated and have a hands on approach to problem solving with the ability to work alone as well as part of a team we would love to hear from you!
