GSL Education are seeking a passionate and qualified Humanities Teacher to join our client schools in Cramlington with the position to start immediately. This is a unique opportunity to inspire and educate students in the fascinating subjects of history, geography and social studies.

Job Summary:

As a Humanities Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that encompass various aspects of the humanities. Your role will involve fostering critical thinking, encouraging a deep understanding of historical and geographical concepts and promoting an appreciation for diverse cultures and societies.

Key Responsibilities of a Humanities Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver interactive Humanities lessons, including History, Geography and Religious Studies that engage students and promote understanding and respect for different beliefs and cultures.
  • Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters respect for diverse perspectives.
  • Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Support students’ academic and personal development, offering feedback and guidance.
  • Cater to the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the development of the humanities curriculum.

Required Qualifications of Humanities Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in History, Geography, Social Studies or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching humanities at school level is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the humanities curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development and use this information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students of all abilities.
  • Be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who have the capability to enhance the learning behaviours of the students.
