SMT Engineer with SMT / AOI programming experience required for a well established and growing NPI client
Role and responsibilities ,
Expert levelin all aspects of SMT programing, programming Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment, Reflow Oven profiling and equipment maintenance.
This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills with Surface Mount equipment, ensuring maximum equipment availability time.
Essential Responsibilities/Activities:
- Generates pick and place programs for SMT Machines.
- Creates and/or modifies component profiles for SMT and AOI equipment.
- Creates and maintains SMT assembly folders.
- Generates inspection programs for AOI machine.
- Develops and maintains reflow oven profiles.
- Maintains stencil inventory.
- Maintains consumable items (solder paste, adhesive, gloves, wipes).
- Provides technical support to machine operators.
- Supports effort to meet goals with Production Operators, Engineers, Design and Management.
- Adheres to quality and safety systems or maintenance of quality and safety standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned or necessary to meet business conditions or changes.
Education and Experience Requirements.
- Technical degreepreferred.
- 3 years experience of programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting Surface Mount / AOI equipment required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.
- Good communication skills; both verbally and in writing..
- AOI Programming is ESSENTIAL
- Must be able to read and understand Bill of Materials, Assembly drawings.
- Good mechanical skills.
- Capable of manufacturing assembly fixtures.
