As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, provide one-to-one support for students, and help create a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Secondary):

  • Support teachers in delivering lessons across various subjects.
  • Provide individual or small group support to students.
  • Help with lesson planning and preparation.
  • Assist in maintaining classroom discipline and focus.
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their best.
  • Contribute to the overall well-being of students.

To be a successful Graduate Teaching Assistant (Secondary), you need:

  • A degree in any subject.
  • Passion for working with young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential).
  • A genuine interest in education and helping students succeed.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
