Reed HR are exclusively supporting an engineering company in Cramlington to recruit a HR Officer. This is a site-based role, supporting the Plant Manager in delivering a high-quality HR service across various departments. This role is crucial for maintaining the HR operations across the organisation, ensuring compliance, and enhancing employee engagement.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide comprehensive HR support to the organisation.
  • Oversee the entire recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, preliminary interviews, and issuing offer letters and contracts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and manage all HR documentation.
  • Implement and manage performance management and improvement systems.
  • Supervise employee onboarding, probation reviews, and exit interviews.
  • Regularly update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current legislation.
  • Handle employee relations, including disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Process payroll, ensuring statutory payroll reporting is completed accurately.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in promoting employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Organise training and development activities and maintain the training log.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Relevant HR qualification, such as Assoc. CIPD, CPP, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in HR.
  • Exceptional customer service and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong planning and organisational skills to achieve departmental and business goals.
