Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IoT Test Engineer to join a high-tech company specialising in the development of innovative connected solutions for the health and social care sectors. As a market leader in social alarms, wireless nurse call, and door entry systems, they supply products across the UK and international markets.

They are looking for a Product Development Test Engineer to ensure their products meet the highest quality standards and customer needs. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of multi-skilled engineers, gaining access to training, mentorship, and career development opportunities.

Key Duties:
  • Develop and implement test plans, procedures, and protocols to assess product performance, reliability, and quality.

  • Work closely with the product development team to align test plans with product specifications.

  • Conduct functional and reliability tests on prototypes and finished products.

  • Analyse test data to ensure compliance with design and industry standards.

  • Design and implement automated testing solutions to improve test efficiency and consistency.

  • Use test management software to create automated test systems in conjunction with custom hardware.

  • Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation strategies during product testing and validation.

  • Identify potential failure modes and their impact on product performance.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure firmware meets product requirements and constraints.

  • Provide technical support to other team members.

Key Competencies & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering.

  • 2+ years of C programming experience.

  • Strong understanding of embedded firmware development.

  • Experience in troubleshooting embedded systems and peripherals.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously when required.

  • Self-motivated and able to manage fast-moving, varied workloads.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex situations and make well-considered decisions.

Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with TCP/IP & Networking.

  • Knowledge of LabView/TestStand or equivalent software.
