We are seeking a self-driven and highly motivated Industrial Maintenance Engineer to join a dynamic team at a state-of-the-art electronics manufacturing facility in Cramlington. This exciting role offers the opportunity to contribute to the upkeep, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production equipment and the overall site environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, ensuring smooth operation of the facility.
- Promote and maintain a high level of health and safety within the factory, reporting unsafe practices or defective machinery to management.
- Ensure the site is maintained to high standards, including cleanliness, orderliness, and safety.
- Perform both electrical and mechanical maintenance, working with suppliers to resolve complex issues.
- Manage and monitor sub-contracted maintenance services to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain and repair test and assembly (T&A) fixtures and production tools as necessary.
- Control spare parts inventory for production machinery and T&A fixtures.
- Oversee service contracts for site and production equipment, ensuring timely servicing.
- Perform PAT tests on electrical appliances and workstations to ensure safety.
- Participate in energy-saving initiatives and contribute to environmental performance improvements.
- Establish systems for daily machine maintenance checks and monitor TPM records for modifications and repairs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities by recommending improvements to equipment or processes.
- Collaborate with Supervisors and the Production Manager on day-to-day operations.
- Provide training and knowledge sharing to colleagues as required.
- Maintain the production assets register and handle ad hoc duties as needed.

Working Hours:
- Standard hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, 37.5 hours per week.
Ideal Candidate:
- 18th Edition electrical certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience, with a focus on electronics preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and control systems is desirable.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to train at other facilities prior to the main site opening for proper handover.
Salary and Benefits:
- Competitive salary range from £42,000 to £52,000, depending on experience.
- Overtime available, paid at 1.5x the hourly rate.
