The Company

Our client is a market leading manufacturing company. They now have a new role for a Sustainability and Compliance Manager.

The Role

  • Develop and implement sustainability strategy.
  • Ensure business remains compliant with all regulatory requirements.
  • Influence culture to ensure sustainability is a core topic within the business.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to maintain compliance and stay ahead of legislation.
  • Drive company activity to maximise re-use opportunity.
  • Ensure the accuracy of data collection for internal and external reporting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare key sustainability information for internal and external communication.
  • Monitor industry best practice, share and implement new initiatives.
  • Represent business at relevant industry working groups and events.
  • Develop knowledge of appropriate legislation and regulations.
  • Develop Life Cycle Assessments.
  • Manage sustainability and compliance team (Sustainable Process Manager, Environmental Coordinator, Management System Coordinator).
  • Manage waste streams and external contractors.
  • Maintain and develop management system.
  • Prepare gap analysis and implement countermeasures.
  • Identify and drive net zero strategy.

The Person

  • You will ideally be degree qualified.
  • Have experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability frameworks and best practices.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and prepare reports for various audiences.
  • Project management experience, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Will have sustainability and compliance management experience and knowledge.
