Job Title: Field Engineer

Office Location: Cramlington

Salary: 25,000 - 30,000 per annum

Office/Work from Home Split: 5 days in the office



Main Purpose of the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and hands-on Field Engineer who thrives in a flexible and cooperative environment. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting networking, server, and computer hardware systems, as well as fabricating and installing various types of cables. Your work will directly impact our clients' operational efficiency, making this a key position in our team.



Responsibilities:

  • Setup, Test, and Maintain Systems: Assist in the setup, testing, and maintenance of networking, server, and computer systems.
  • Cable Fabrication and Installation: Create and install cables, including Coax, RS2c2 serial, RJ45, Cat5, and Cat6, and perform soldering tasks.
  • On-site Technical Support: Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting to ensure seamless operation.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed.
  • Customer Training and Support: Offer training and support to customers, ensuring they can effectively use our systems.
  • Collaborate on Complex Tasks: Work with senior engineers on more complex technical tasks to broaden your skills and experience.
  • Adhere to Standards: Ensure all tasks are performed following company standards and procedures.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of networking, server, and computer hardware.
  • Cable Making Experience: Experience with making and installing cables, including Coax, RS2c2 serial, RJ45, Cat5, and Cat6.
  • Hands-on Skills: Proficiency in soldering and hands-on technical tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to work in various environments.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Team and Independent Work: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Mobility: A valid driving license and the ability to travel locally as needed.
  • Location: Proximity to Cramlington.


Desirable Skills (but not essential):

  • Industry Experience: Experience in aviation or a similar technical field.
  • Technical Support Tools: Familiarity with tools like Freshdesk for technical support.
