Head Chef 40 hour week, straight shifts

This private school is set within amazing grounds, in a rural location and prides itself on the superb cuisine they prepare for their pupils and staff. They have their own in-house caterers, and the Head Chef will have a free reign to create contemporary, high-quality menus. With a team of 6 chefs, they prepare everything in house using fresh, seasonal produce for up to 700 covers. Alongside this they also cater for gourmet banquets, vintage afternoon teas, BBQs, conferences and external events.

The Head Chef has overall responsibility for all food production, both for internal and external events. They will manage the quality and food production of all catering and associated commercial hospitality business activities, including the day-to-day high volume and first-class school meals production (core business) to an exceptional standard and within budget. They will also take full responsibility of the kitchen staff, food hygiene, health & safety, waste management and stock control.

The focus is always on quality using fresh, seasonal, nutritious and locally sourced food. It is tremendously busy, sometimes challenging but highly rewarding role. They are proud of their food and service and expect the Head Chef to demonstrate the same passion.

We are looking for an exceptional, qualified and experienced Head Chef with City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Professional Cookery who is able to demonstrate inspirational leadership skills in the kitchen.
