PrepLighting Technician for Moving Lights and Technology


Based near Tunbridge Wells in Kent, Limelite Lighting is a Technical Production Company, specialising in lighting, rigging and power for television, events and theatre.


We are currently recruiting for the position of Prep Lighting Technician for our Moving Lights and Technology Department at our rural HQ in Goudhurst, Kent.


Job Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Preparing moving lights and all associated control systems for hire, including consoles, DMX buffers, nodes and networking systems.
  • Maintaining and servicing equipment to high standard, including PAT testing.
  • Fault finding and repair.
  • Ensuring all department equipment is maintained to a high standard ahead of emergency hires.
  • Helping to ensure the warehouse remains efficient and organised.


Experience

This position is open to applicants who have prior experience working as a prep technician in a lighting hire environment and demonstrate excellent knowledge of moving lights and controls by leading brands, including Martin Professional, Vari-Lite, Robe, Clay Paky, Chauvet, Show tec, MA, ETC, Avolites, Zero88 and Hog.


Please note, the salary will be reflective of the individuals knowledge and experience of moving lights and all associated controls.

  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Organised and meticulous about ensuring equipment is maintained and tested to the highest standards.
  • Able to use own initiative in order to keep warehouse clean and tidy.
  • Implement stringent processes in order to ensure the safe and professional delivery of temporary power equipment.
  • Manual labour is a big part of this role, so applicants must be physically able.


Working hours

Normal working hours are 8am to 5pm. However, the nature of the industry often dictates irregular working hours.
