About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant at an SEMH school in Cranbrook. In this rewarding role, you will support students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health challenges, helping them to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. No prior experience is required; we are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, empathetic, and eager to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in their academic and personal development in a supportive and nurturing environment
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and support students with emotional and social needs
  • Work closely with the teaching staff to create a positive learning environment
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support tailored to individual student needs
  • Be a positive role model and provide guidance and encouragement to students
  • Help students develop essential life skills and boost their confidence

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A genuine passion for working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs
  • No previous experience required, but an eagerness to learn and develop new skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude towards challenges
