About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant at an SEMH school in Cranbrook. In this rewarding role, you will support students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health challenges, helping them to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. No prior experience is required; we are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, empathetic, and eager to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist students in their academic and personal development in a supportive and nurturing environment
Help manage classroom behaviour and support students with emotional and social needs
Work closely with the teaching staff to create a positive learning environment
Provide one-on-one and small group support tailored to individual student needs
Be a positive role model and provide guidance and encouragement to students
Help students develop essential life skills and boost their confidence

The Ideal Candidate:

A genuine passion for working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs
No previous experience required, but an eagerness to learn and develop new skills
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude towards challenges
