Join Our Team as a Chef at a Children's Activity Centre!

Do you have a passion for cooking and a heart for supporting children? We’re looking for a dedicated Chef to join our friendly team at a charitable children’s activity centre. Help create a comforting environment for children during their first trip away from home, where your meals will play a key role in building trust and confidence. This role is Temporary to Permenant on the basis of Enhanced DBS check taking 12 weeks to come back.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary from £25,584 to £30,000
  • 36-hour week, 5 days a week (including occasional weekends)
  • Typical hours: Mon-Thurs 9am-5pm, Fri 7:30am-1:30pm
  • Flexibility to work shifts between 7am and 7:30pm
  • Enhanced DBS certification will be applied while in role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare fresh, nutritious meals, catering to special diets and preferences
  • Supervise a team of staff, ensuring smooth service and cleanliness
  • Maintain our 5-star food hygiene rating and adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Manage kitchen operations, assist with budgeting, and liaise with other staff and leaders

About You:

  • MUST Drive to get to the location
  • Experienced chef with a passion for children’s wellbeing
  • Ability to lead a team and manage kitchen staff effectively
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and budget management
  • MUST have Food Hygiene 2 and Allergy Certification
