About the Role:

  • You will be working alongside experienced teachers within small classes, individually and in groups, to learn and develop your teaching skills.
  • You will observe, assist, and eventually lead engaging learning activities that encourage pupils' learning and progression, focusing on improving their social and emotional development.
  • You will be instrumental in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment where children can thrive.


What will I be doing?

  • Observe and assist experienced teachers in delivering lessons and activities.
  • Gain practical experience in planning and delivering lessons, focusing on communication skills and life skills.
  • Support pupils' participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice.
  • Provide behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life.
  • Support with personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding).
  • Monitor pupil progress, observing how different teaching approaches impact learning.
  • Assist with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time.
