Reed Education are seeking wonderful Trainee SEN Teachers for an 'Outstanding' Ofsted-rated day school for autistic children aged 4-19. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to fill roles in teaching, learning support, and nursery work. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience and access a wide range of funded training and qualifications in SEN education.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide teaching and support following individualised curriculums, focusing largely on communication skills and life skills.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and activities to encourage pupils' learning and progression.
  • Support pupils’ participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice.
  • Provide behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life.
  • Provide personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene.
  • Monitor pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for each child’s needs.
  • Assist with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Professional, personal, or voluntary experience of working with children and disabilities.
  • Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE in English Language & Maths or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working with children who exhibit behaviour that challenges.
  • Comfortable supporting others with personal/intimate care where required.
  • Ability to keep calm in high-pressure situations.
