Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support and teaching to autistic adult learners, both individually and in small groups.
  • Develop and implement educational activities and lessons that promote skill development.
  • Apply behavioural support techniques to improve life quality for learners.
  • Assist learners in personal care tasks, promoting high standards of hygiene.
  • Facilitate involvement in community-based social, leisure, and educational activities.
  • Help learners explore and secure work experience and employment opportunities.
  • Monitor progress and adapt support strategies to ensure effectiveness.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have a driving licence or reliable transportation due to the centre's remote location.
  • Experience in working with adults or young people with disabilities, whether professionally, personally, or voluntarily.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours and provide intimate care when necessary.
  • Calm and effective under pressure.
  • A strong interest in learning disabilities and a passion for impactful work.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain an Adult and Children DBS through Reed.
