Field IT Engineer

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is excited to be working with a rapidly growing tech business in the South Shropshire Area looking to hire a Field IT Engineer to help implement and support their Virtual Reality product for its UK customers.

This is a good opportunity for a recent graduate / associate engineer level person who is interested in a career in tech work in a field based implementation + support role. The role is hybrid based out of their South Shropshire office with work from home opportunity when your up and running in the role. You will be required to travel to customer sites mainly in the North West, North and North East of England when required. The role reports into the IT Director and is part of a round the sun development and support team.

The company will provide full training on the product and the duties and responsibilities will be varied across the below:

• Providing technical assistance and resolution to support calls and tickets involving audio visual hardware and software. 

• For complex issues, escalate and work with experienced team members to resolve.  

• Provide physical on-site support for internal and external clients.  

• Work with Third Parties and Integrators to ensure customer issues are resolved. 

• Document all issues and resolution using the internal ticketing and knowledge base system (JIRA / Confluence) + Submit development requests or bug fixes in JIRA. 

• Set-up servers for site deployment.  

• Update internal Business Management System with installation information to support accurate reporting.  

• Provide Live Event Support. 

• Work with Project Managers to understand project objectives focusing on hardware / software requirements to achieve client use cases.  

• Create system diagrams for project installations during pre-Sales and project planning stage and keep information updated for the duration of the project.

• Educated to degree level (preferably in a technical field) or equivalent qualifications and IT experience.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel to UK based customer sites when required.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to transfer technical information internal + third parties, working with both technical and non technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to show you can learn technical skills quickly.
