Reed Finance are currently partnered with an established Crawley based client in the recruitment of a Budget and Contract Specialist to join their team.Ā  This role reports into the Global team in the US and as such can be hybrid or fully remote.Ā 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare and review budget proposals for Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Work Orders, and Change Orders.
  • Prepare and review contract documents for RFPs, Work Orders, and Change Orders.
  • Collaborate globally to align project cost estimation, work order development, and analysis with executive management, senior-level project management, and functional area leads.
  • Assess project status versus budget of Functional Units and produce related monthly reports.
  • Assess productivity ā€œbillable timeā€ and produce related monthly reports.
  • Participate in initiatives to review and align global project templates.
  • Analyze data supporting project execution obtained from time management software compared to actual labor expenditure and payment schedules to improve project budget and costing models.
  • Input contract budgets into time management software for future analysis.
  • Support the execution of all monthly (internal) and Quarterly Budget Review meetings (with sponsors) in collaboration with Project Management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Educated to ā€œA Levelā€ or equivalent; Finance/Accounting/Science/Life Science based qualification is desirable.
  • At least 3 years of previous experience in a finance analytical/budgetary role, preferably within a CRO or Pharmaceutical company.
  • Must have complete MS Office skillset, especially advanced Excel spreadsheet skills (Pivot tables, lookups, etc.) and excellent skills in Word.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize workload and develop effective processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
