My client is recruiting for a new Financial Accountant in Crawley.
Description
- Management and delivery of month end close
- Preparation of month end reporting packs including commentary on variances
- Delivery of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Supporting annual and interim audit
- Implementing weekly/monthly processes and implementing rigorous controls
- Supporting internal audit
- Posting payroll information to the finance system and reconciling
- Monthly and quarterly VAT submissions
- Accounting for European taxes
- Processing journals
- Managing freight and express job exceptions
- Invoice, credit note, vendor/customer onboarding & credit approvals
- Pre-month end freight/express job review & close in line with accruals release policy
- Monitoring and correcting general ledger coding
- SUN system accrual and prepayment allocations
- Updating accounts structures & mapping as agreed with HoF
- Investigating and resolving operating system to accounting system interface failures
- Maintaining leases and fixed asset schedules
- Supporting the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Ad-hoc reporting
- Covering HoF and other management accountant activities as required
Profile
- May be studying towards and Accountancy qualification.
- Demonstrable previous experience in a management accounting role.
- May have previous experience as a Financial Accountant.
- Experience in Freight Forwarding or similar business is a plus but not essential.
- Sound knowledge of accountancy techniques and practises.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, with a flexible approach to working practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.
- Proven time management skills, high degree of initiative and self-sufficiency with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
Job Offer
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
