  • The Financial Controller will oversee a finance department of four staff members and will be involved in performance management and succession planning.
  • The position offers a competitive salary of £60,000 to £70,000 per year.

Our client is a well known manufacturing company which manufactures a range of household appliances. They are looking to hire a Financial Controller to join their head office in Crawley.

This is an office based role, 5 days a week.

Duties

  • Production of financial information including profit and loss accounts, sales & margin reports, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis etc
  • Assistance in the production of the annual budget and periodic forecasting
  • Ongoing review of cash flow and production of forecasts
  • Analysing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
  • Production of annual statutory accounts & liaison with Auditors.
  • Responsible for all activities related to Regulatory/HMRC compliance issues (VAT, Payroll, Intrastat, WEEE etc)
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations and review of intangible assets
  • Treasury functions, bank reconciliations, credit control etc.
  • Production of Consolidated Accounts and complete the necessary Covenant calculations as required by the Bank
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
  • Manage Finance Department of 4 staff covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll/HR including day-to-day communication and motivation as well as succession planning and performance management
  • Other tasks as required by the Directors

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant with suitable experience
  • Working knowledge of Sage X3 (essential)
  • Proven technical ability
  • Understanding of modern management information systems
  • Ability to manage, delegate, motivate, monitor and control team activity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial management
  • Intellectual with a strong commercial acumen
