Opportunity for an experienced SME Financial Controller to support a true innovator and industry disrupter. IMMEDIATE START!

Hybrid working: Two Days office based weekly (flexible)

This latent SME is a true innovator and pioneer in the manufacture of renewable energy technologies. A disruptive scale-up, using advanced manufacturing techniques, the best scientists, and academic affiliations, they're trailblazing their way to becoming one of the front runners in the race to net zero.

As part of their constant evolution, we're looking for an experienced SME Financial Controller who understands and embraces the necessity to be hands on and ready for the varying challenges each day brings. I addition to solely managing the finance department, you'll be supporting the restructuring of the finance team.

Reporting to the CEO, you'll primarily be responsible for the day to day running of the finance function, while using your keen eye for detail to identify opportunities to make improvements across, process, systems, and people.

You'll developing a strong control environment for the accurate production of management information for the board. Supporting data-lead strategic decision making across the business.

Regular duties will include but are not being limited to:

  • Prepare and submit financial statements (IFRS) a
  • Prepare monthly management accounts/board reporting
  • Provide day-to-day support to operation and commercial teams
  • Drive finance process and control enhancements
  • Cashflow management
  • Develop publication of a KPI dashboard
  • Involvement in budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis
  • Ensure timely processing of payroll, supplier payments, day to day accounting

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified accountant (checks will be undertaken)
  • Understanding of IFRS accounting and standards
  • Exposure to a previous VC backed business would be an advantage
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented
