Reed Finance are currently partnered with a fast-growing, family-owned hotel chain who are looking for a Financial Controller passionate about creating meaningful experiences through exceptional hospitality. As Financial Controller the successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the finance function at one of their prestigious locations near Gatwick Airport, ensuring the integrity of accounts operations and providing timely financial analysis for effective decision-making.

Day-to-day duties of the Financial Controller:
  • Coordinate and be involved with the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and monthly P&L.
  • Review monthly financial statements and analyse variances between actuals and budget for all revenues, expenditures, and payroll.
  • Implement policies, guidelines, internal controls, and safeguards to maximize profitability and efficiency and meet legal requirements.
  • Manage month-end processes including consolidated management reporting, variance analysis, cash flow, business KPIs, and commentary to senior management.
  • Support the credit control function, ensuring timely chasing of debtors for payments, managing purchase ledger and banking.
  • Audit operational outlets’ stock on a regular basis and prepare month-end reports for stock take.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a branded hotel or hospitality environment, ideally within a leadership role.
  • Financial qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the confidence to engage and influence colleagues across the organisation.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise appropriately.
  • Proficient IT and systems skills.
