Reed Finance are exclusively partnered with a leading organisation in the recruitment of a Financial Controller to join their Senior Finance Leadership Team. This pivotal role involves leading key financial functions, ensuring the highest standards of financial governance, and providing exceptional customer service both internally and externally.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and direct the Payroll, Accounts Payable, Travel and Related Expenses, and Credit Control functions to ensure efficient and timely operations.
  • Manage contracts with 3rd party providers for payroll and expenses software to ensure optimal functionality and service.
  • Oversee all Tax matters ensuring compliance with HMRC and international tax authorities, including corporation tax, employment taxes, VAT, and more.
  • Manage the Group’s insurance matters, ensuring comprehensive coverage and liaising with insurance brokers.
  • Lead the annual valuation of disclosures for the defined benefit pension scheme and provide expertise on other pensions-related matters.
  • Develop and provide necessary reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance, CFO, Executive Committee, and the Board.
  • Identify and lead process improvement activities across all areas of responsibility.
  • Support colleagues with the Annual Report preparation and other financial governance activities.
  • Develop and motivate team members, ensuring clear pathways for development and progression.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant with a proven track record in a dynamic commercial environment.
  • Extensive experience managing service functions in a large business.
  • Significant practical knowledge in dealing with all aspects of tax compliance.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Confident manner in dealing with people at the highest levels of seniority within the company and external organisations.
